• I would like to demonstrate a stud finder that uses capacitance. I think I purchased one a few years ago and gave it to the demo lab. Mike made a demo with wood and plastic cover. I would also like to have one of the digital multimeters used in the elementary lab. Please see Larry.

• I want a Hall probe and several permanent magnets, strong and weak, to show various magnetic field strengths. Have it for Fowler's lecture as well. Mike says he has one in intermediate lab.

  ( I want a battery hooked up to this to show that it operates as a motor. This is small so let's hook up a TV camera. Does it show well on the Elmo? That is also an option if it does. )

• I need a wire carrying lots of current passing over a compass. I want to show that the magnetic field produced by the wire produces a magnetic field indicated by the compass. I will put it on the Elmo. I need a larger compass. I also want to do the hydrodynamics demo with current passing through salt water above a strong magnet. You can see the water flowing.

• I would like a long rope that I can use to produce waves. I want to be able to change the tension of the rope, so it needs to be attached at one end. I will do this on the floor in room 203. Is it possible to have two ropes - heavy and light - so I can see if the wave velocity depends on the density? I also need a large open loudspeaker so I can show how sound waves are produced.
