Blowing a Fuse

Purpose:

To show how power dissipated in a resistive element (fuse) increases as the current increases.

Procedure:

A 2 A fuse is connected in series with three light bulbs which are connected in parallel. The bulbs are screwed into their sockets one at a time until the fuse blows.
