  (I want to use the device as a demonstration of propagation speed of an electric signal in a wire. I need the oscilloscope to trigger on the output of the function generator (first trace), and to show the output of the light detector as the second trace. The output of the light detector should be delayed if cable is added between function generator and laser diode. For this use, I do not need the far mirror.)
