PLEASE REQUEST DEMOS WELL IN ADVANCE

Due to Physics Building renovations, the lead time to set up demo requests has increased due to the need to transport equipment across campus. Please be kind and let me know well ahead of time what you need.

FM Radio

Purpose:

To demonstrate an operation of a simple FM radio station.

Procedure:

The heart of the set up is the HEATHKIT RF generator. Connect an antenna to the antenna output of the generator and connect external audio frequency generator (use HP not PASCO) to the modulator input of the generator. The frequency setting should be selected to F then the bottom scale of the generator gives the frequency in MHz.
Tune up the radio to the frequency of the generator broadcast and listen to your radio station.
