Discharge Tubes

Purpose:

To show the properties of Beta rays.

Procedure:

Connect the coil to the electrodes of the discharge tubes and switch the coil on. The voltage can be adjusted with the voltage pot and the polarity can be switched with the + and - switch. Different tubes show various phenomena:
