PLEASE REQUEST DEMOS WELL IN ADVANCE

Due to Physics Building renovations, the lead time to set up demo requests has increased due to the need to transport equipment across campus. Please be kind and let me know well ahead of time what you need.

Hand Crank Generator

Purpose:

To demonstrate the laws of induction used to generate electricity.

Procedure:

Variety of hand crank generators connected to light sources is available.

Last image on bottom of page shows the Arbor Scientific "Genecon" with "Visual Electricity Demonstrator" (VED). The Genecon can put out up to 0.5A when connected directly to the VED. The VED is fused to 1.5A max. Any power source greater than 3V placed directly across VED will blow its fuse.
