PLEASE REQUEST DEMOS WELL IN ADVANCE

Due to Physics Building renovations, the lead time to set up demo requests has increased due to the need to transport equipment across campus. Please be kind and let me know well ahead of time what you need.

SETUP: Plug a bulb with a STRAIGHT filament into AC supply. Bring a magnet to the bulb and watch the filament vibrate. For contrast plug it into a DC source to see the difference.

Hints:

Do not use too strong of a magnet or a bulb above 60W. It'll break the filament.
