video - Magnetic Fields Associated with Current Carrying Wires 2

Purpose:

To demonstrate the shape and direction of the B field around a current carrying wire.

Procedure:

DEMO VIDEO DOWNLOAD

SETUP: Put heavy duty wire through magnet apparatus and connect in series with TDK-Lambda power supply (12V 40A) or battery and carbon rheostat. Lines of force and direction of field will be seen and can be reversed by reversing current. Place on overhead projector.
