Purpose:

To show the dispersion of light through a prism.

Procedure:

Two slits are placed in front of a projector to create a thin column of light which then enters a prism. The separation of the different colors of light due to the dependence of refraction on wavelength cna be seen on the screen.

Equipment:

  • Slide Projector
  • Prism
  • collimating slits
