Start out with the bridge having three 25W light bulbs in the outer receptacles. The fourth outer receptacle can be filled with light bulbs of different power ratings, ie. 60W. When a bulb with the same power rating as the other three is placed in the fourth receptacle the bridge is balanced and the central bulb will not be lit.
