Ideal Gas Law

Purpose:

To qualitatively demonstrate the ideal gas law,.i.e., with temperature change the pressure and volume change are followed.

Procedure:

Set up the PASCO heat engine/gas law apparatus. Prepare two reservoirs one with boiling water another with ice water. Dip the capped metal cylinder in each one and observe the piston head rise/drop.
