Magnus Effect - Cart on Track

Purpose:

To show the Magnus Effect by blowing air toward a spinning vertical cylinder on a cart. The cart will move perpendicular to the air stream.

Procedure:

The demonstration makes use of the PASCO ME-9481 Bernoulli Cart Accessory that consists of a rotatable vertical cylinder that can be spun up with a string.
