Due to Physics Building renovations, the lead time to set up demo requests has increased due to the need to transport equipment across campus. Please be kind and let me know well ahead of time what you need.

Fluorescence

Purpose:

To demonstrate the conversion of the UV light into visible light using fluorescent materials.

Procedure:

Shine a black light flashlight onto various materials to observe fluorescence. A UV lamp may be used as well. Materials include but not limited to Tide detergent (both the ink on the box and detergent itself are fluorescent), fluorescent pencils, dye, and ink.
