Qualitative Pressure GaugePurpose:To show how the pressure in a liquid depends on depth.Procedure:A funnel with or without a diaphragm (cut party balloon) over the end is attached via a tube to a U-tube manometer. As the funnel is submerged, the increase in pressure causes the levels in the manometer to change.Hints:Do not forget to uncork the free end of the manometer.Much better quantitative results can be achieved if no diaphragm used at all. ![]() |
